Intensive In-Home Services at Therapeutic Alliance
Intensive In-Home Services at Therapeutic Alliance
There is compelling evidence that a large number of youths with a variety of mental disorders, including ADHD, are not being served, are inadequately served, or are inappropriately served in communities across the country (Surgeon General’s Report on Mental Health, 2001; Jensen et al., 1999; MTA, 1999).
The Executive Summary on Mental Health: Culture, Race and Ethnicity, a Supplement to the Surgeon General’s Report (2001) indicates that 75-80 percent of children and youths with mental health illnesses do not receive needed services.
This service is for individuals ages 4-18 years of age. It incorporates family and the community to meet the child’s growth and development needs. The services are performed at the youth’s home, community, and less restrictive environments, with the goal of avoiding out-of-home placement.
Therapeutic Alliance Intensive In-Home Counseling Services (IIH) targets children and adolescents that are at-risk for removal from the home due to behavioral, mental health or substance abuse problems. Additionally, children and adolescents who are transitioning home from an out-of-home placement such as foster care, detention, or residential programs may be appropriate for services.
Therapeutic Alliance In-Home Counseling Services provides these services to children, adolescents, and their families for the purpose of early intervention, crisis management, and avoiding out-of-home placements. Treatment involves collaboration with other professionals for the purpose of coordinating services to efficiently achieve set goals. Meeting sessions are held in the home. A strong component of our services revolves around self-sufficiency of the family and strengthening family dynamics.
